Review on Braque de l' Ariege
The Braque de l' ariege is a hard and fast working Pointer, descended from the heavier Pointer, as can be found in the paintings of Oudry. This breed was developed during the twentieth century by introducing the Saint-Germaine Pointer, a more lightly built dog. Today's Braque can scent and flush game while on a fast trot and yearns for both physical and mental activity.
If not given stimulus, this breed can be both noisy and destructive; because of this it should be acquired as a puppy so it adapts to the lifestyle of its owners. Height is 60-67 cm (24-26 in) and weight 25-30 k (55-65 lb), making this the largest of modern French Pointers. |
