An Review on English Toy Terrier Dog
The English toy terrier's ancestry goes back to the Black and Tan Terrier which can be traced back at least as far as the early sixteenth century. This is a sleek, cleanly built dog, alert and with both Toy and Terrier characteristics, a breed which historically could perform very satisfactorily in the rat pit.
The combination of colors is striking; the black parts are ebony, and the tan a rich chestnut, their distribution very carefully set down in the breed standard. Ears are the shape of candle flames, with slightly pointed tips. The tail is thick at the root and tapers to a point. Height can be from 23-33 cm (9-13 in) and weight vanes considerably, though it should never exceed 5.5 kg (12 lb). This friendly and intelligent dog makes a charming companion. |
