An Complete Guide on Griffon Bruxellios Dog
Under FCI regulations, the breed now known in both the UK and the USA as the Griffon Bruxellois is divided into three separate breeds, which are the Griffon Beige, the Griffon Bruxellois and the Petit Brabancon. All three types of dog are classified within FCI Group 9.
The Belgian Griffon is black or black and tan with long, wiry hair. The dog was bred with English Toy Spaniels to reduce its size. The Griffon Bruxellois, also known as the Brussels griffon, has a harsh, wiry, coat of clear red, which is longer than the Belgian Griffon's and is perhaps the most familiar in the UK. The third variation, the Petit Brabancon, can be red, black, or black and tan, and has a short, tight coat. It has a Pug like face with semi-erect ears. |
