Brief Description the King Charles spaniel
Known in some countries as the English toy spaniel, this breed was a great favorite of King Charles II from whom the breed took its name. This breed is closely related to the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and has the same variety of splendid colors. A compact and cobby dog with very large, wide-set, dark eyes, the King Charles is a happy, intelligent toy spaniel, with a distinctive domed head.
The bite is typically slightly undershot. A devoted companion, its temperament is reserved but gentle and affectionate, and the breed is both clean and quiet in habit. The long, silky, straight coat with its slight wave is not especially difficult to keep in good order. Weight ranges from 3.6-6.3 kg (8-14 lb) and height is usually 25-27 cm (10-llin). |
