The Miniature Pinscher Dogs
A sturdy, compact and elegant little dog the Miniature Pinscher has a smart outline, I and moves with a precise hackney gait. Originating in Germany the breed started to gain popularity in Britain after the Second World War. Pinscher is the German word for terrier and although now kept as a companion dog the breed has great ability as a ratter and is often willing to challenge much larger dogs.
Naturally well groomed, fearless and alert, this is a self-possessed breed with a spirited presence, well suited to a small home. The ears may be erect or dropped and the colors are black, blue or chocolate with clearly defined tan markings, all these colors having penciling on the toes.
Alternatively the breed may be solid red of various shades. Height is 25.5-30 cm (10-12 in), with weight usually 4-5 kg (10-12 lb), and historically the tail has been docked short. |
