The Toy Group of Dogs

Many toy breeds have been carefully bred for centuries by a process of selective miniaturization. Favorites of the courts and of noble families, they were kept as small lap dogs and companion dogs but in the majority of cases their ancestry can be traced back to other breeds, which were often larger.
